What Does BERITH Mean?

BARA means TO CUT. A covenant was sealed by cutting animals and walking between the pieces. Both parties declared: if I break my word. May what happened to these animals happen to me. It was the most binding agreement in the ancient world. And God entered one with Abraham. On YOUR behalf.

The Names of God Are Your Covenant Promises

In the ancient world a name was a DECLARATION OF NATURE. When you call on a name of God you are invoking His covenanted nature. He cannot deny His own name. Study the table below and complete the last column with your personal worry for each name.

Father God, I thank You that You walked between the pieces alone. I thank You that my breakthrough does not depend on my perfect faith. It depends on Your perfect covenant. Today I rest in that covenant. I stop striving. I stop performing. I stop trying to be good enough to receive what You have already signed, sealed, and delivered in the blood of Jesus Christ. My breakthrough is coming. Not because I deserve it. But because You are a covenant-keeping God. In Jesus name. Amen.
